Recently though my students were studying will for future plans. I decided to use the song, When I'm Sixty Four by The Beatles. The great thing about using Beatles songs, is there's always a lovely melody and it's easy for learners to sing along to.
I began the activity by pre-teaching some of the vocabulary (see an earlier post if you would like to the word cloud method for this). I then play the song and ask the student to discuss what they think it's about and feedback to the rest of the class.
From here you could do a number of things, you could have a gap fill activity, or some comprehension questions or a sorting activity. The key thing here is that the students understand the meaning of the future.
Finally you can round off with a homework or in-class writing activity telling the students to write about what they think life will be like when they're sixty four.
