My students really enjoy writing on the mini white boards, and they enjoy taking photos even more. Putting the ideas together, I ask my students to come up with a story and write each sentence down on the white board, taking a photo of them holding the white board as they go. The students can also add facial expressions and gestures as they show each board.
This is a really good activity for pair work, so if you do have a student who is more camera shy, they can be the photographer, and they can check that the sentences are structured, and spelt correctly. Using the photos they have taken, they then need to put together a strip of their story and make sure they have sequenced it correctly.
I always tell my students a minimum and maximum amount of sentences they are allowed to use. If it's the first time, I would recommend starting small and building up. Once the students have finished their story strips, you can either make it into a flip book or store the images on your class webpage.
