While cleaning out my cupboards at home, I found I had come to the end of my concentrate washing liquid. I decided to rinse out the bottle and then fill it up with lots of verbs in their simple verb form. I labelled the bottle, Verb Shaker and took it into my class.
Using the verb shaker bottle, I asked each student in turn to shake the bottle and pour out one verb card. Once they saw their verb card they had to make a sentence using the verb. The students loved it, and we began switching from the present simple to the present continuous.
The great thing about it, is I can use it as a filler activity or I can use it again when we come to learning past tense verbs. So if you have an empty, plastic bottle at home, why not give it a try?!
